Certified Music Therapist and Founder of Free to Be Music Therapy

Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Janelle grew up around music and completed her Music Diploma at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC. She then returned to Calgary, where she worked with children with developmental delays and disorders for 5 years which led her to the field of Music Therapy. Janelle moved to Vancouver, where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy at Capilano University and a 1,000-hour internship at BC Children's Hospital. After graduating, Janelle decided to stay in Vancouver and lay down some roots.

Free to Be Music Therapy started with a vision of a safe, inclusive space where clients feel Free to Be themselves regardless of ability, class, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, neuro-divergency, and mental or physical diagnoses.

Janelle practices a humanistic, strength-based approach in which she meets you where you are, and aims to connect with who you are at your core, holding space for you to show up authentically.
